Masahiro Tanaka starts season off strong, helps Yankees win 4-2

TORONTO – Another productive offensive night from one of the Yankees’ newcomers — and another well-pitched game from one of their holdover starting pitchers – again was the winning formula for their second straight victory to start the season.
Imported third baseman Brandon Drury knocked in two runs and Masahiro Tanaka tossed six strong innings as the Yanks improved to 2-0 under new manager Aaron Boone with a 4-2 win over the Blue Jays on Friday night at Rogers Centre.
